Bye Bye Basement
There was plenty of space in this neglected lower level, but it was divided by a creepy yesteryear wood stove set on blue tile plopped in the middle of it. To one side was a gloomy patio roofed by the rough underside of the upstairs dining room. On the other, a grungy bedroom and bathroom no one wanted to claim for theirs.
This sad basement was transformed into a place to gather by a fire, watch a movie, play board games. Room was found for a fridge, a micro, a wine cellar. The miserable patio was converted to a king-bedded room with an en-suite bath. This once overlooked space could also function as a two bedroom apartment for extended guest stay.
